The counselling services that I offer are part of my training and are supervised. This means that I will discuss the content of our meetings with my clinical supervisor, without surnames, to ensure that I am providing the best possible care while at the same time maintaining your confidentiality.
Like all regulated health care providers in Ontario, I am required by law to disclose confidential information if I believe on reasonable grounds that the information is needed to eliminate or reduce a significant risk of serious bodily harm to my client, another individual or a group of persons. Similarly, I am required to disclose confidential information if I believe that a child or elder is being neglected or abused.
